Answer
Do give the older dog plenty of time, brushing, walks, fetch, butt and belly rubs, whatever she loves.  Many older dogs want nothing to do with a puppy and its sharp teeth.  If your older dog wants to play with the puppy, let it.  Our friend has a big male lab that is 5-6 now, and we are quite pleased with how he has played with our puppies.  Our 14 year old one wants nothing to do with them.  Just keep an eye on things and step in if the big dog gets too rough.  It is fine as long as the little one comes back for more.  Just don't let the big dog pick it up and shake it.
