Hello, I am a high school doing a project on dogs, more specifically, "why are dogs such a significant part in our society?" I am required to have an interview, and technically it isn't an interview but it's close and i was wondering if you could answer all these questions.  This would be so great. 2.   How long have you been doing this?

3.   Why do you think dogs are so popular?

4.   When do you suppose this dog “craze�? started? Do you think it’s been like this for years?

5.   What makes dogs so unique compared to other types of domestic animals?

6.   What are the most common types of dogs that help society?

7.   What is the role that dogs in general, play in our community?

8.   Who do you think benefits most from dogs?

9.   Why do you think dogs give so much when all they do is ask for such simple things in life?

10.   There are some people that think dogs are unintelligent, disgusting, gross, and dirty, among many other things.  What would you say about that?

11.   What would you say is the most amazing thing you have seen a dog do, in terms of healing someone, saving someone, or what not?

Interview

1. What do you do?  Professional Dog Trainer, breeder, handler

2. How long have you been doing this? 25+ years

3. Why do you think dogs are so popular? Because they give unconditional love and ask for nothing in return.

4. When do you suppose this dog "craze" started?  Centuries ago when man discovered that dogs could benefit him in hunting, keeping warm, companionship etc. Do you think it's been like this for years?  Yes

5. What makes dogs so unique compared to other types of domestic animals? They tend to relate to us well.  Most domestic animals tend to exsist for simple survival purposes of eating, sleeping etc.  Dogs do so much more that doesn't rely on survival purposes.

6. What are the most common types of dogs that help society? Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, German Shepherds

7. What is the role that dogs in general, play in our community?   Companions

8. Who do you think benefits most from dogs?  Love

9. Why do you think dogs give so much when all they do is ask for such simple things in life?  Because they don't have a reason not too.  Dogs need a reason to do things.  Most of the time it is please their owners for love & attention.

10. There are some people that think dogs are unintelligent, disgusting, gross, and dirty, among many other things. What would you say about that?  That they are unintelligent themselves.  They need to get an education when it comes to what canines are.

11. What would you say is the most amazing thing you have seen a dog do, in terms of healing someone, saving someone, or what not? Nothing has really amazed me per se.  I know what dogs are capable of and nothing really shocks me when they do great things.
