length of heats

I would like to know about how long will my female pit bull will be in heat for and how often do bitches go into their heat cycle?

Answer
Most are in season for three weeks, but some do go a bit longer than that (or at least are still attractive to the boys). The average bitch is in season twice a year, about every six months, but some come in every four months, eight months, or even once a year.

Keep track on a calendar of when your bitch comes in season so that you don't get caught unawares. Most are fairly regular in whatever they do.
