Neutered male dog and a female in heat

Question
I have a male 2 yr old neutered male who has been seutered since 4 months. I also have a 1.5 yr old female that was is in heat. Today i found them..."stuck" together. I was unaware that this was even possiable after him being fixed at such a young age. Should i worry? Is it possiable that they botched his surgery?

Answer
This is very common. Most neutered males *will* ignore in-season bitches.... unless they get right under their nose... and bitches can be such teases. What's a guy to do?<G>

In some instances, if the neutering was fairly recent, the dog can still get the bitch pregnant due to still-viable sperm swimming around in the dog. It is always important to keep in-season bitches separated from all males, intact or otherwise, to avoid potential problems. When a person has dogs of both sexes and wonders which one to neuter, the choice should *always* be the bitch first.
