Hi I took my German Shepard to the vet when I noticed
A large balloon like thing under his chin they said they will
Have to get a surgeon to remove it. You said you where told prices
As high as 2800 but how much did you end up paying? 2800 is out
Of my range but I don't want to loose my dog. Any suggested ideas? Thanks

Hi Peter,

I think you have me confused with somebody else at the AllExperts site. I don't give out prices for veterinary procedures, because princes vary depending on your location and what treatment is needed.

Different vet clinics charge different prices. You could "shop around" by calling different vet offices to see what they charge. If you are having trouble afford veterinary care, but don't want to change doctors, talk to your regular vet. Ask your veterinarian if he or she will let you work out a payment plan. Many veterinarians are willing to work out a weekly or monthly payment plan so that you do not have to pay the entire cost of veterinary care up front. Another option is to contact local animal shelters or the Humane Society. Some shelters operate or know of local subsidized veterinary clinics or veterinary assistance programs. If you happen to live within driving distance to veterinary school, check with them to see if they offer discount services to the public.
There are two special credit cards to apply for which help with medical bills (including veterinary bills). Both cards offer zero or low fixed interest rates for periods of up to 18 months. Read about them here:
