QuestionYesterday my yorkie met a bigger dog and then they sniffed and then my dog started barking wildly and then she started yelping like I have never seen before. I calmed her down and she seemed fine. She walked fine but seemed less happy. Then later he would let out a small yelp if she turned a certain way but I can't find any part of his body that will create a yelp. He may be just walking straight and then a small yelp. He doesn't limp. Today he didn't want to move like he was protecting himself. I gave him a prednisolone and he returned to normal. I was standing right there with the other dog and I didn't see him touch my dog. He turned his head when he was barking so could he have pulled somrthing? What is this? Vets were closed today and I don't have a vet because I just rescued the dog a month ago. Can you help?
AnswerDear Devin,
Thank you for writing to me. If your Yorkie is still in pain today, it's time to have a vet examine her. There are numerous things that could have triggered this but if your dog continues to be in pain, then that loving thing to do would be a visit to a vet.
I wish you the best of luck.
