Shiz Sue - Eating Issue

Question
I have a shiz sue approx. 1 year old. (this dog was a rescue)  I don't know much about him.  My question is every once in a while he will throw up yellow foamy liquid (bile).  I was curious if this was from his food or because he is hungry.  I feed him a snack about 4 tablespoons of purina beneful prepared meals at lunch time when i come home and then feed him the rest of it about 6:00pm.  I have hard food that lays in his bowl but he seems to not fancy the hard food. (hardly eats it)

Since i am learning his behaviors i am not sure if he is getting enough food or if perhaps it could be the wrong kind.  I have tried a ton of different brands (trial and error) to see what he would eat.  If you have experience in this please e-mail me back or post this so i can get more educated on this.

Thanks,

Patty

Answer
Throw the Purina away. Use a good premium, dog food. Not one you can buy at the grocery store or wal mart. One with no by products, no wheat, no soy , no corn. These are useless fillers that your dog has problems digesting and poops out anyway. So it is paying money for something you only clean up that your dog derives no food value from.
It sounds like there is a possiblity that your dog has GERD. Which is a fancy name for saying that he has acid reflux. He needs to eat three times per day. No more 'meals'. Put his food down leave it for thirty minutes, and take it up. He either eats, or he doesn't. Period. No snacks. No additives. Offer him a bit of dry dog food as soon as he wakes up in the mornings and just before he goes to sleep at night.
Good luck with your baby
