QUESTION: Thank you for answering.  Shadow will not eat much of anything. Forget anything commercial grocery food (a good thing I suspect); he just sniffs & walks away. He seems to like my homemade food but ignores it the next day.  Chicken, ch. livers & beef; he seems to prefer raw meat which is maybe/maybe not.  Hand feeding him tiny pieces works & I don't mind it. He seems to be a large (18-20) Pomeranian  who was well taken care of & trained; if I just knew his commands but he's teaching me.  As I said perfect except for the feeding problem.  He's owned me for about 1 yr., 3 mos. & is at least 5 years old.  Thanks for your help, Shirley

Answer
LOL he definitely owns you Shirley. Like many people you are being manipulated by your dog. Dont' feel bad it happens to the best of us. Go to a good pet store and purchase a good quality food, no by products, wheat or soy. Preferably fLint River, wellness,Natural Balance, Canidae, or Eagle Pack. Put his food down twice a day at the same time every day.Pick it up after thirty minutes. Ignore whether he eats or not. If you prefer to cook for your dog that's fine as well, even better. but DO put his food down only twice per day for thirty minutes. If he eats fine, if not fine. No treats and no additives no in between meal snacks.
He will eat once he realizes he cannot manipulate you into giving him more goodies :)
good luck
