Question
If my dog has a wet nose, is that a symptom of a cold?

Answer
Hi Mindy,

Thanks for writing to me regarding a concern for your dog's health.

A cold wet nose is good!  Symptoms of illness to look for are yellow or green mucous, discharge from the eyes and nose, sneezing, coughing, itching, diarrhea, constipation, lack of energy, change in breath/body odor and the most important sign of illness is lack of desire for food.  When a dog stops eating it is time to bring him to the vet for a work up.

You know your dog better than anyone on this planet and if you use your instincts and common sense, your dog will always be in good hands.

Best of luck with your pooch.
