Strange behavior all of a sudden.

Question
Hello, Charlotte. I have a 1 1/2 yr old (human years) female Pomeranian who
has been acting strange at night for the past couple of days. Oreo is an
indoor pet and is not usually around other animals. Usually before bed she's
pretty hyper and either wants to play with us, or plays alone with her toys.
With her strange behavior she acts as though she's afraid of something. She
follows me around and runs away from my fiance, which is usually the other
way around.  She also runs away and wants to sleep at the bottom of the
stairs near the door. I'm a little worried about her, there's no possible way
that she could be pregnant... she's on her third cycle and has not been
around any male dogs. Could the strange behavior be caused by the cycle?

Hi Amber;
First forget the human years/dog years thing.
There is absolutely NOTHING to that.
Different breeds have differenr life spans.
Some have an expected life span of as little as 5 years, other as long as 16-18 years old. Now how can anybody hope to avearage that and compare to human years.
Besides, the human life span is just as varried.
Yu do need to have her spayed for her health sake.
Females are prone to breast cancer. Spaying prevents this. If they are spayed before they come into their first season, this increases the protection, but late is better than not at all.
Spaying also helps, with other good diet and medical care, help them live a longer life.
Someone could have frightened her, or it could just be because she is so small and fragile that she is just aprehensive.

She sounds like just a very fearful dog.
Your fiance could have come clost to stepping on her, and doesn't even know it, and she could be afraid of that.
You could guess forever and never come up with a sure answer.
Naages for calmning in general would make a big difference in her attitude, nd make her feel more secure.
