sore paws and ears

we are looking after a springer spaniel for a friend and she seems quite happy - my own springer is not particularly friendly but tolerates her. Yesterday and today she keeps shaking her head violently and scratching and licking on her paws obsessively. Is there something I can give her to help. Her nails are quite long and the fur between her toes hasn't been clipped. Are her paws not used to the walking so I'm harming her? any help would be much appreciated. thanks

I doubt that is the cause.  She most likely has an ear infection,  which is where the headshaking comes in.  Licking the paws obsessively is often a sign of stress.  I would get to a vet,  or buy some ear drops for her.

The extra walking wouldnt do that to her.
