epsom salt bath for dogs

Question
When soaking my dog in a epsom salt bath, should I wash with shampoo after or let the salt water dry on her?

Answer
Hi Laura,

Combine two cups of Epsom salts with a half cup of baby oil and add to warm bath water. Bath your dog in this for 10 minutes for relief from dry skin. Or Mix two cups Epsom salts with a half cup baking soda and a half cup colloidal oatmeal and add to lukewarm water. Bath your dog in this for 10 to 15 minutes. The oatmeal and baking soda will provide relief from the itching while the Epsom salts continue to work on the dog's dry skin.

Do not let them drink their bath water. Epsom salts are only used for external problems never internal.  After you have done these things, just rinse with cool water and dry.
