puppy gas

I have a 4 month old Lab Rotweiller mix who has awfull gas. He is fed Innova large breed puppy food three times a day at two cups per feeding. I have seen allot of anti gas medicines advertised but i don't know what is safe to give a puppy. Can you help?

Awful gas is just one of those side effects of feeding high quality meat based food. Stinky!

To be honest, I have never used an anti gas medication. I have always just dealt with it, or added yogurt to my dogs food to help with digestion. I would suggest asking your vet for a good recommendation.

If you would like to go the natural way, I give my dogs 1/2 cup of non fat plain yogurt every 3 days. It really seems to help with their digestion and the gas.
