My dog may have aborted her pups

Question
I have been talking with Shawn here and he is maxed out in asking questions this is our last conversation:She sounds like she is a lot closer then three weeks. If the breeder did not see the ties and is guessing how far along she is, she could easily be off. Her symptoms are farther along then three weeks out. I would start taking her temperature twice a day and charting it. It should be around 100.5-102, normal for a dog. When you notice a big drop, usually a full degree or more (most times it is a drop under 100) that means she is due to give birth within the next 24 hours. I would also go ahead and get your whelping kit and whelping box ready, and make sure she is in a nice, safe, warm place to birth the puppies. Make sure she is eating high quality puppy food 3 times a day and is away from other animals. Do not let her strain herself.
She just went to find a dark place she has been digging but not like the nesting digging.I took her temp. and it was 101.1. That is normal. What kind of not straning does he mean? She does not even eat 3x's a day I have a hassle to get her to eat 2x's a day or even eat at all.And she is on Puppy food.I will keep you and Shawn Posted. Thanks Briana

Answer
I have no idea what he meant by "do not let her strain herself". I suppose he meant you should keep her quiet and not let her exert herself too much, however, you should have been walking her every day so that she has been getting plenty of exercise. As she approaches whelping, it will be harder to get her out for a walk and she will want to go into seclusion.
