Signs that my dog might be in labor!!

I have an american bulldog who is 5 years old, she is about 56 days pregnant, she has been leaking milk from her breast, and I also noticed that earlier today well about 3 hour ago she went to the bathroom, and she had a string of clear discharge hanging from her private.  What does tha mean? Is she about to give birth?

Hi Gidget,

Just because your dog is expressing milk from her nipples it does not necessarily mean that she is going to whelp soon.  It could simply be the result of abdominal pressure from the pregnancy.
A clear mucoid vaginal discharge is normal during pregnancy,  it might continue until she delivers her litter.
