drinking water from the toilet

My pit bull loves to drink out of the toilet-we keep fresh cold water in his bowl all the time but he prefers the toilet. We keep our toilet clean and always flushed but still is this alright for him to do. Also is there something I can give him for diarrhea he has had it for about a day and a half- he hasnt had anything different to eat and its not every time he goes to the washroom. Could eating too many rawhide bones cause diarrhea?

There is really nothing wrong with drinking from the toilet as long as it doesn't have any of those toilet cleaning chemicals in it.

If it is annoying you, keep the lid shut or the door closed and that should take care of it.

Diarrhea can come from allot of different things. Certainly raw hides can cause allot of problems, from diarrhea to intestinal blockages. I'm not a big fan of these simply because of the problems they can cause. A better choice for chewing fun may be a kong, stuffed with kibble or peanut butter. Some even freeze them with yogurt or other eatables. These can keep a dog entertained for a long time and with healthy stuffings are a great nutritious treat.
Also, over feeding can cause diarrhea, so monitor closely, how much your dog is eating over all.

You can give pepto bismol at 1cc per 20lbs to sooth an upset tummy. If he still has diarrhea tomorrow, I would give his belly a rest and not feed him for 24 hours. If he is still "loose" I would advise getting him vetted just to make sure that there is nothing medically wrong.
