St. Bernard hair loss

I have a 13 month old pure bred St Bernard. I love this dog he was born on my bed. I have only changed his diet 1 time in his lifetime, 3 months ago. however he has recently started to go bald in patches. i have not changed his routine but he seems depressed. Can you please give me a few suggestions on how to help him feel better and to quit loosing his hair?

Hi Stephanie,  It sounds like he may have demodectic mange.  The only way you will know for sure is to take him to the vet to get a skin scrapping to have them verify it.  You want to verify what he has before you treat him with anything.  Hope this helps,
