AKC and CKC

If the male is registered with AKC and the female is registered with CKC, who registeres the babys ? AKC or CKC ?

Hi Flo,

Are you referring to the Continental Kennel Club, or the Canadian Kennel Club?

If you're referring to the Continental Kennel Club, that is not a recognized registry as it was started by irate puppymillers who pulled their dogs out of AKC when they were required to DNA-test their frequently-used stud dogs. They register mixed-breed dogs, as opposed to the American Kennel Club and the Canadian Kennel Club which only maintain purebred dog registries.

I believe you can register with either the AKC, or Canadian Kennel Club as both organizations recognize each other. You may need to provide an original or notarized copy of the certificate of registration and AKC certified pedigree for the parents. Contact whichever kennel club you plan on using to get the details of registration.
