Rottwelier and children

Question
I've heard stories of Rottweilers turning on people!  A friend just got a Rott 10 months ago as a pup from a breeder.
she visits once in a while and she brings the dog. i have a nine year old and a five year old.  The dog is friendly, but I am a little worried.  I'm pretty sure the dog has has some training at Pet Smart.  The owners think I'm over reacting about my concern.  they think a Rott would only turn if they are not brought up right.  The owners are twenty year olds without children.  My question is, can I trust that this Rottweiler won't bite my children?

Answer
Shawn, as long as the dog is not showing aggressive tendencies, I don't think you have anything to worry about. Dogs do not just 'turn' on people, no matter the breed. Nevertheless, dogs and children should NEVER be left alone together. There should ALWAYS be adult supervision when dogs and children interact.
