Answer
Hello Congrats on your new baby chi's are very cute. I have Never had a big problem with my dogs chewing on my fingers when they were puppies. My advice is never play with yur puppy using your hands/finger...ie don't flip the puppy over and scratch him tummy/tease him with your fingers as you are asking him to play with them as toys so he is of course going to bite them. When he does start getting over excited and biting your fingers or hands...Tell him No in a firm angry voice making eye contact helps....then push him away you are not going to keep playing with a biting puppy no matter how small he is! Doing this and throwing a good chew toy across the floor for him to chew on is what I did for my dogs. I recomend Flexible Nyla bones for puppies and durable ones for adult dogs but you might be able to keep him on flexible ones to chew since he won't have that much chew pressur...these are great I use them for my dogs they are very safe and keep the dogs occupied for sometime...they are avalible in many flavors and you can even get blue/pink ones now for males/females you can also get puppy teething keys. Plush toys help with sore gums from teething also...just be sure he can't tear them apart. Puppy kongs are also of intrest to some puppies also avalible in blue or pink now they are softer then the adult ones which is great for teething puppies and you can stuff treats in a kong or cheese spread/peanut butter and keep the puppy occupied for quite awhile. I have used both kongs and nyla bones for some years and thats why I reccomend them...I don't think there are safer toys out there!  My website might be of some intrest also: http://www.freewebs.com/dustycovens/index.htm

its a free website I add pages every few days so its in a working progress. (Theres only music on the first page turn it off with the swich on the bottom left if you'd like or you can turn it right down). Best of luck with your little Dakota.
