Question
Hi, since you have been in a similar situation as I am in at the moment, I wondered if you could help.
A few months ago we bought a Golden retriever puppy, who is now 6 months old. We didn't get him til he was 14 weeks old and as a result he was overly enthusiastic about other dogs, considering this and the fact that in a few months time we would be going to work we decided he should have another dog for company. We made the mistake of buying an 8 week old labrador puppy. Our golden retriever is thrilled with the puppy but seems overly boisterous and we are all very worried about both the dogs' wellbeing. The puppy is no longer scared of our golden retriever and will fight back but we are not sure our golden retriever knows when to stop. The puppy will occasionally retreat to his crate but we are still very worried about both our puppies and wondered if you had any advice? Thankyou

Answer
We see a lot of older/younger puppies.  Problems are few, but you do need to keep a close eye on things and step in if it gets too rough or the little one is is trying to get away.  Sometimes we even have to settle 2 older puppies.  With as much of it as we see, there was never an injury to a little puppy.
