strange dog habit

I have a 2yr old terrier mix I rescued from the animal shelter. I have had her since she was 2 mo. She is an indoor dog housebroken and very loving and active. The only thing is she seems to like rubbing herself on snails when she goes outside.It causes her to smell extremely terrible. Why does she do this and how do I stop it? Thank you so much for any help you can give.

Dogs do like to roll in weird and awful things,they mostly do it because they think it smells good,even if we disagree

The best way to get her to stop it is to say 'stop it' and call her over with a treat,and give her the treat as soon as ignores the snails and comes over to you
