Question
My dog have a problem. He loves to come out to the living room with us (he suppose to be in the kitchen). When this happens, he will hide under the sofa. So, later in the night, we will pull him out of the sofa but he started to get agressive with growling sounds and sometimes leads to bites. I tried hitting him to tell him it's not right. But after some time, he bite again. What can I do to stop this?

Answer
Hello.
Hitting your dog is not the answer.  No wonder he is trying to bite! Why would you want him to stay in the kitchen when the rest of the family is in the living room?  Dogs are very social animals and they want to be with you.  He is comfortable under your couch and does not want to be moved.  He does need to learn to come out though, but hitting him is not the answer.  Try coaxing him with some good food.  Praise him lavishly when he comes out.  If you continue this, he should start to come out when you ask him to.  If he won't do it without a treat, then have a treat ready.  Most dogs will do about anything for a good treat.

God Bless,
Becky
