jumping up & licking faces

Hi Kristin:
We rescued a 10-12 month old female mixed breed  (Chow, shepard, retriever) from our local shelter 2 wks. ago.  She is about 35 lbs. and very sweet.  She gets so excited when we play with her that she jumps up and tries to lick our faces.  She lives outside in a 200 sqft kennel with a house for shelter & we are outside a lot with her & take her for long walks usually twice a day.  How can we discourage the jumping & licking?  Thanks for any advice you can give.

What you can try is,put a chock chain on her with a leash attached to it,and as soon as she jumps up,quickly pull the leash back and say "off",or you can hold on to the leash and have someone come up to her,and do the same thing,keep on doing it until she doesn't do it anymore,and praise her when she stops
