Eating poo!

Question
Hello.

I have a question about my puppy Misty. She is a 4 month old labrador. I have seen her eat poo several times now. I dont know if its only her own she eats or my other dog Marias aswell. I have heard that it can be quite a common thing for puppies and they can do it out of being bored or lacking something in their diet. The advise I have been given so far is to clean the poo before she gets a chance to eat it but its not very realistic cause I cant be there 24h. Any ideas? What should I do when I catch her in action? How should I react?

Thanks Noemi

Answer
HI NOEMI
YES, KEEP ALL POOP PICKED UP DAILY, THIS WILL DEFINATELY DISCOURAGE DOGS FROM DOING THIS.
IT IS A HABIT LIKE WE BITE OUR NAILS.  SHE CAN BE STOPPED, IF U CATCH HER, PINCH HER NOSE LIGHLY AND SHAKE HER FACE BACK AND FORTH SAYING LOUDLY NO NO.!  MEAN IT.  BE FIRM IN TEACHING ANY PUPPY RIGHT FROM WRONG.
ALSO, ON WWW.DRSFOSTERSMITH.COM THEY HAVE DIS TASTE TO PUT IN THE PUPS FOOD TO STOP THIS.
PUT THE DOGS ON FRESH FACTORS, THEY WILL THEN HAVE A GOOD SUPPLEMENT ALL DOGS NEED.  THE LINK IS ON MY SITE, IN SPRINGTIMES SEARCH TYPE IN DOGS.  I ALSO USE BUG OFF GARLIC TABS FOR FLEAS THIS WOULD ALSO HELP STOP HER AS THAT WOULD NOT TASTE GOOD.
