about male pug

QUESTION: i have 2 pugs.my question is the female is in heat any ready to breed.however the male enters her vagina but doesnt knot.its like he gets out of breath and stops,is this a problem with male pugs?and if they dont knot can she still get pregant?thank you,cindy

There may be a size difference that is interferring.  Or she may not be ready, although at 2 weeks she should be.  check with your vet to see if everything physical is ok with both of them.  You can also have artificial insemination if he is getting too stressed.  Usually if they don't tie, there is no pregnancy, but once in awhile their can be.
