obsessed/dominating dog

Question
I had my German Shepard for 8 years now (neutered), and he's always gotten along with other dogs, but always had to be the dominating one. A few days ago my husband and I got a 1 year old female Siberian Husky (non-spayed) from the pound. She is a very social dog, but does not get along with my German Shepard. They take walks together and go to the dog park and play with other dogs without incident (of course he has to mount other dogs). When they are at home he's so obsessed with her and dominating, that she is scared of him and fights him. I have to keep them seperated and slowly introduce them on leashes. He will come up to her and lick her face and when she turns away he will whimper and run to me. When she walks in the yard he blocks her way, and just smothers her. When we are walking the dogs are fine like I said, but if one of us takes the Siberian Husky away from him, he goes abosutly insane until you bring her back and he's shaking. We are planning to have our Siberian fixed this week to hopefully releive the problem, but we are just confused and don't want to give her up if the problem doesn't resolve. We are in desperate need of help!

Answer
If he is also trying to mount her, it is perfectly normal for her to tell him to bug off, as only the most submissive bitches will tolerate a male trying to mount them. Most bitches will not allow that unless they are in season and ovulating.

It sometimes takes a few weeks for a new dog to integrate itself into the family pack, so you just need to have some patience with the two of them. They do need to settle things for themselves, but if he continues to bother her unduly, I would interfere and tell him in no uncertain terms to "KNOCK IT OFF!"

Yes, do have her spayed ASAP as that should help with some of these problems.
