i have a poodle that licks and chews on her feet her tail her legs . when i bath her it is slimy to the touch,it scabs up to a big crust. i want this to be over,i had her tail docked because she chewed it to the bone. the tips of her ears are califlowering, missing. deformed from sores, help i need a person to take this 2 year old bison poodle,i cant take it any more i have a 16 year old schnoodle, deaf blind and i got this poodle from a rescue in florida,wanted to breed it to replace my schnoodle. i have had it for one year. i took it to the vet and the vet said it had mange. i medicated it for mange for a year not getting better/ her face,ears and tail is all that has sores at this time. when i give her difluican she gets better but i run out and it comes back around her mouth and face tail area. my question is can this dog be giving herself a bacteria on her body by licking and chewing? dog needs a home.

Her licking and chewing is preventing her body from healing properly. She should NOT be bred. I can't believe the rescue you adopted her from did not require that she be spayed. It sounds like an obsessive compulsive type behavior. Did she come from a puppymill, by chance?

What food are you feeding her? Sometimes food can cause allergies, which can cause the dog to lick and chew itself like what you're describing.

What type of mange did/does she have?
