Question
Hi Becky,

I have 2 questions...first, my chihuahua, Vinny, seems to get
constipated with the better dog foods.  My speculation is that
they have too much calcium for him.  I prefer feeding him the
better, organic foods, but is there something I can give him to
help with his digestive problem.  Would a little milk help? it's
more calcium, but it seems to work with cats.  Vinny's my first
dog so I'm very new to this.

My second question is what is the difference between the
Frontline flea treatments that are available at the pet stores and
the ones you get from a Vet, besides the price?

Your response is appreciated!

Answer
Hi Deeta!

You can actually give Vinny some Metamucil. It contains psyllium seed husks that pull water into the stool to help "move it along".  Give 1/2 tsp twice a day for small dogs.  You can try giving a little milk, as it normally gives dogs diarrhea if given too much, so in this case it might help to get things "moving"....LOL

As fars as Frontline goes, I think it's the best product that I have used for fleas. The problem is that the store brands just are not strong enough, or something like that, as they just don't seem to work as well.  You don't have to buy from a Vet. Go online, there are several places that sell it.  I buy mine from a place called Petshed.  Just go to any search engine such as google and type in Petshed, or Frontline and you will have many options to buying it online.  I buy mine in a spray bottle, and just spray it on the back of the dog's neck. It is safe to use on puppies and kittens too.

God bless!
Becky
