Eye infection in Collie?

I've noticed my collie (he's about 20 weeks old) is having some problems in with his left eye. The area around the eye has gotten very dark and seems to have lost it's hair and although the eye is the same shape as the other eye and isn't red or anything, it is producing a lot of discharge. any idea what this can be?

Thanks for your question.  He might have an ingrown hair or a eyelash that is bothering it. It might not be a bad idea to get him to a vet and have it looked at for it could me keeping his eye or loosing it.  You dont want it to get infected so until you can get to a vet just put eye drops into it for a couple days a few times a day.  Hope this helps.  Mail me back and let me know.
