Question
HI, I  HAVE A 3 MONTH OLD BORDER COLLIE AND PITBULL PUPPY. I WAS WONDERING I FEED HIM CANNED FOOD. BUT FOR SOME REASON HE HAD DIARRHEA FROM IT. WHAT KIND OF FOOD SHOULD I FEED HIM? I HAD A LOT OF PEOPLE SAYING I SHOULD FEED HIM PUPPY CHOW DRY FOOD, BUT IM NOT SURE WHAT I SHOULD FEED HIM. WHAT KIND OF FOOD THAT I COULD GIVE HIM SO HE DOESNT HAVE DIARRHEA?

Answer
Hi Mabel-

Well, puppy chow is pretty much nothing but corn husks and sugar. Its a complete waste of a food, there's no nutrients in it what so ever, so I really wouldn't suggest that. You need a food with no corn, wheat gluten, soy, or other fillers in it... that's basically saw dust for dogs. The best foods are grain free, or limited grain, using only brown rice. Here is a wonderful site that helps you choose a dog food. Stick with 6 star foods for the optimal health of your dog. They are more expensive, but in the end, it will be worth it as you will save a LOT of money on vet bills.
