My dog ate a hair barrette? What do I do?

My dog is a small chihuahua about 3lbs. Right now he is fine. It was a small elastic type of barrette there was no metal on it either.I hope you can help.

He will probably pass it just fine on his own, keep an eye on his motions and try to see if you can see the barrette after he goes to the toilet. The danger with an elastic foreign body is that it may wrap around something so keep a close eye and if he vomits or shows other signs of illness take him to the vet straight away.
