refuses to potty out side

Question
I have a female min pin Chihuahua about 10months of age. Me and my girl friend have tried every potty training technique we can think of. we would even be out side for hours with the dog, but the very minute we go inside she will go potty. We would scold her even if we did not catch her. We tried putting her out side every time she went potty in the house, but that does nothing. When we put her in the crate while we are gone for a couple hours she does not go potty in her crate. It feels like she is doing this on purpose for attention, but we both give her ALOT of attention. We try to take her out every 1-2 hrs to go potty.  Any suggestion?

Answer
Take it out on leash.  Walk around.  They can only walk and hold it so long.  When it finally has to go, lavish praise on it.

Yes, she could be trying to control you.  The key to most behavior problems is approaching things using the dog's natural instincts. Dogs see all the people and dogs in the household as a pack with each having their own rank in the pack and a top dog. Life is much easier if the 2 legged pack members outrank the 4 legged ones. You can learn to play the role of top dog by reading some books or going to a good obedience class. A good obedience class or book is about you being top dog, not about rewarding standard commands with a treat. Start at http://www.dogsbestfriend.com/
