refuses to feed

I have a 3 year old white boxer.she gave birth to 7 pups 4 weeks ago .she did great at first now she refuses to let them suck is this normal?

Dear Charlotte,

Thank you for writing to me about your boxer and her pups.

It is imperative that both the dame and pups be checked out immediately for any health risks.  The pups have to be weighed and examined to make sure that they've been getting the proper nutrition.  If they are deficient, it could effect their health for the rest of their lives.  It is even possible that their lives could be in danger.  

There is some reason that the mother isn't responding.  Please please please call your vet for an urgent appointment.
