Training my husky

Question
Okay I recently got a husky from someone, it was heavily under weight, he is dog aggressive cause they let him and another dog fight for the right to eat, and obviously had a sign of worms. Well we watch alot of the vet shows and knew to worm him and get the weight back on him so he is healthy as can be but he has had no type of training what so ever. He knows how to sit after you put your hand flat out to his face but he loves to jump and tackle people if he can, but in a playful manner. He also paces his lot till there is no grass in the path he paces. He is very hyper active and we have to mess with him daily but getting him out is a hassle. We have a hard time keeping him still while putting on a collar and leash. When outside the lot I have to litterally lunge him like you do a horse. He runs on and on and on until he decides to pull you else where. I keep a tight line and when he does something wrong I will pull back on the leash and made a disapproval sound letting him know I didnt approve and he doesnt seem to care. So I guess I am asking how you train the basics to not jump and do as commanded with a hyper active dog? Is there a certian type of food he should be given? And how do you break a dog from being dog aggressive? And he barks alot especially if your outside, is there a way to calm or cease that? Thanks for looking and hopefully you can help me out in some type of way.

Answer
Tiffany,
There are a lot of questions here.  Lets do one at a time and you can contact me through my e-mail address which is nanricfoxes@bellsouth.net.
Lets start with the walk since that is where you will start to get control.  I want you to go to the store and buy a pinch/prong collar.  When you walk  him, if he goes ahead of you, I want you to change direction immediately and go in the opposite direction.  He is NEVER to walk anywhere but at your side with a relaxed leash.  You will have to change direction many many times.  I also want you to get a backpack for him and start with a bottle of water on each side.  He is a working animal so make him work.

At dinner time  he must sit, on command, before he is given his food.  Iams is a good food to calm dogs down.

Lets start with these two things and get back to me next Saturday, ok?
