Question
In the last week since my dog has returned home from the kennels,we have noticed that her urine smells quite fishy and she is peeing more frequently do you know what could be causing this, and is there anything we can use to get rid of the smell from our bedroom carpet and rugs.

Answer
Your bitch needs to be examined as she may have a bladder infection. They will want a urine sample, too.

As to the carpeting, there are a number of over-the-counter products available. You could try soaking the areas with vinegar, or try mixing 1/4 cup baking soda, 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide, and a dash of dish soap. Once it stops foaming, blot it, and then either shampoo the area or wait until completely dry and vacuum.
