Hi Laytonya,

If your dog is a male, then no, he's not in heat. Only female dogs have a heat cycle.

Usually a female dog starts going through "heat" between 6-8 months of age, and then it continues twoce a year (on average) for the dog's entire life. If your dog is a female that's almost two years old and is having her first heat cycle, you should have her examined by your vet.
