Question
My 13yr old lab mix has a swollen left ear flap.
I think that he may be a bee sting because he enjoys rolling around and may have rolled over a honey bee.  I don't see any evidence of a sting, though.
It has been swollen for about 2 wks and is also a bit red and warm, and though it is tender, he doesn't appear to be in any pain and dosen't mind the ear being lightly touched or stroked.
Otherwise he is in good health according to the vet who repaired a gum/jawbone problem several months ago.
He successfully took all the antibiotics, so, I doubt that the swollen ear is related to the gum/jawbone issue.
Is there any home treatment I should try before contacting the vet?  How much longer would you wait before seeing the vet?
Thanks.......Doug

Answer
Hello and thanks for your question.  What I would do is ice it for about 3 hours a night. 15 minutes on and 15 off for about 3 hours.  Try that for a couple days if that doesnt work then give your vet a call.  Hope this helps  mail me back  and let me know how everything is going and if this helps.  Thanks for your question.
