Bladder Stones Calcium Oxilate

Question
My female Lhasa Apso has had surgery for Calcium Oxilate Bladder Stones.
The Vet has put her on Urocit-K to keep stones from forming.  He also put
her on Hydrochlorot because her urine was not clear.  Would it be better
to have my dog examined ever 6 months or so and if she has formed stones,
flush them out before they get big. Giving my dog pills is like pulling
teeth. The medicine is not getting her PH to the poing to curtail the
stones from forming

Answer
I am not comfortable second guessing a vet.  You might discuss alternative diets.  My vet once put my puppy on Science CD which changes the urine pH making it hostile to the bacteria that were causing bladder infections.

You also might try hiding the pills in something, perhaps a little peanut butter.

My daughter has a Lhasa Apso mix.  Small does not mean easy.  She is taking him to agility class.  The instructor put him in a prong collar.  He refused to move in a regular slip collar and pawed the head collar off.
