An owners cocern

My dog is a Chihuahua mix I think with pug but not sure. He is about 13 years old. He got out into the alley the other day and was digging in a knocked over  trash can. He is now pooping blood like liquid. I treated hi over Thanksgiving for Tape worm. I know this will probably boil down to taking him the the vet. Any suggestions???

Yep you're right. Take him to the vet.  He could've eaten anything. It honestly could be just gastroenteritis but better safe than sorry. Meanwhile take him off regular food. Put him on some plain yogurt and unsalted chicken broth. Add some brown rice and boiled chicken with no skin.
You can also give him some immodium.
