dog eating hair

Question
My 8 month old Papillon puppy constantly eats hairs, ones that have fallen on the couch and on the floor, mostly human hair (me and my roomate both have long hair). I don't know why he is doing this, he is on a high quality dog food meant for young small breed dogs, he has free access ( I know some people don't think that's a good idea but it works for him) so being hungry isn't the problem. Any ideas as to what could be causing him to do this?

Answer
Leigh-

Honestly, it probably just is his own personal little quirk! I wouldn't worry about it too much unless he is actually plucking hairs from your head or pulling his own hairs. It may be a stage he grows out of when he grows out of his curious puppy stage, but a few hairs here and there are no biggie. He would have to eat handfuls of hair before getting blocked :)
