Question
I have two dalmations a 13 year old spayed female and a 15 month old neutered male. We moved about 5 weeks ago to new house and had to order a new doggie door to fit hte doorm while waiting for it to be delivered we left the back door open as both dogs have been completly house broken.  After 2 weeks our door arrived and now that it is in our young guy uses it - but has started to urinate and poo in the house also just in one location _ it just started suddenly.  We have had him since he was 12 weeks old and was using the doggie door within a week and never has gone in the house.  What should we do- we can't lock him outside because the old dog is used to coming in and out.

Answer
Hello and thanks for writing. Unfortunately, you must start potty training over againl But if the dog is going in the same spot each time and no where else, there may be a scent there that he does not like. Use a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water to clean the spot really well. It is the only thing a dog can not smell through. That would be the first step i would do..and dont let him see you clean it. Then you must praise the dog when he potties outside and the only way to do that is to go out with him and that means having control over the dog door til then. I really think this wont take long to fix. let me know how it goes.
