Question
Hello

I am having quite some trouble with my dog. He has all the symptoms of earmites but no remedy or solution given to us do anything to help our dog. He has been bleeding, scratching his right rear and shaking his head for the last year and his ear stinks. He was seen by a vet once already and the medicine given did nothing for our dog. We have one other adult dog and six one month old puppies which are fully healthy and show no signs of earmites or sickness of the ears. Is there any other parasite, disease or anything that can cause these symptoms and if you dont know we would greatly appreciate the remody Thank-You.

Answer
If the dog has been diagnosed for earmites, it is is simple...use Ivormectin in the ear once every few days or odimite, is another product.
He may have a Yeast infection, which Zymox, or Ear Baytril will be another option.
Either way, you will have to go back to the Vet to get these items, as they are under prescription.
So, I would call your Vet back and tell them the meds they gave you did not work, and he needs further assistance.
I will be available if you need further help.
Also, we have a great reference book to find loads of things online, as well as a teaching tool.
Go to our publisher's site: www.heartsonfirebooks.com
The E book version is only $5.99. "And Puppy Makes 3, or 4, etc.

Thank you again,
