Dog home alone

I have a 5 year old Shitzu mix that for the first time will be left home for 8 to 9 hours.  I bring her to work with me almost everyday - the days I don't she goes with her dad.  

We have a wedding that starts at 3 and most likely won't end till midnight.  I am just sick about this.  

Our girls is very happy and I don't want to make her unhappy by leaving her alone to long.

Am I bad parent for leaving her alone for this amount of time?  I am trying to find someone to come and give her a walk and feed but all my friends are going to the same wedding...

Is this to long of a time..

You are not a bad parent for leaving the dog. The only problem may be that the dog will know it is longer then usual and have some anxieties. We wont know til it happnes. does the dog have a crate? that might be the solution. also..make sure the dog can go potty right before you leave. and then right when you get back. Good luck
