Question
I have a Chihuahua that likes to mark his territory ,butin my house on corners of furniture sometimes .he is 4 years old would it do any good now to neuter him? Alos his breath has gotten REAL bad in last few months he lays with front down and rump up sometimes and swallows quit a bit ? I was told could be a bone or something caught in throat ?I appreciate any advice you could give thanks .Elaine

Answer
Hi elaine,

It would definetly help to neuter him,  but he may still mark because of his age.  Neutering him will definetly make a differenc though.
His bad breath is probably caused by his teeth.  Chihuahuas and most small breeds, need to have their teeth cleaned ever now and then.  Bad teeth can cause some major problems, not just bad breath.  As far as the bone in the throat theory, no that's not it.  IF it were a bone, he would never stop.  It's kind of a gag reflex,  not really sure.  My dogs do it sometimes too.  I wouldnt worry about it unless it was often.

Hope this helps!

God bless,
Becky
