Question
I have a four year old St Bernard with a beautiful coat except all of a sudden the white part of his mask has a pink tint. He does not appear to have a skin conditon and it does not seem to bother him in that area. I have bathed him and it is still pink.It is not a problem, I am just very curious.

Answer
Hi Patti;
Could it be some chemical in the shampoo you are using?
Is it an even pink all over?
If it is local to one area, he could have had a rug or other material that does not have a very fast dye job,that he was laying on, bleed on him on him.
If it is fabric dye that bled, it might not necessarily wash out with one washing.
Is this tint in the area of the eyes, and do his eyes water and/or drain a lit?
an allergy that causes his eye to water could cause this, although the coloring is usually a brownish or orangish tint.
