vomit and irregular heartbeat

Question
Hello, my dog Wrigley has vomited 3 times in the past 2 days, it is almost like scrambled eggs, but in the last bit i found a piece of pineapple in it.  She has been very inactive and seems like she is depressed.  I found on another site that it is O.K. to try Pepto bismol.  Today I noticed that she has an irregular heartbeat as well, she could have had this all along, but I just noticed today.     The reason I am asking Via internet is that the clinics are closed on the weekends and will not take payments, cash up front only.  Please help with any information.  I will be taking her to the vet as soon as possible but if i can find something out this way that would help immensely.  Thanks, Brian

Answer
Good that you are taking her to the vet asap. That is a MUST DO. Until then, put her on a soft easily digestible diet. Try some boneless skinless chicken boiled with no salt and a little garlic, cook some rice in the broth and mix that in and  feed her small amounts to see if she keeps it down. DO NOT give your dog pepto bismol. Give her a tums, or if she's small, give her a half one and see how she does. Give her some pedialyte as well if she is vomiting enough to seem dehydrated. It would be a good idea to check her temp as well. Remember NEVER to give people medication unless you know for a fact it will not hurt them. Tylenol is horrible for dogs, a SMALL baby aspirin is workable for pain but never tylenol and never pepto. Try to keep her quiet and comfortable until you can get her seen, and DO try to do that as soon as possible. if her vomiting gets worse or she appears to be in distress in any other way, don't wait. You  might also give her some plain yogurt as that is great for settling tummies. What concerns me the most is her attitude, that in itself is enough to hit the vet's office as soon as you can.
