Question
I have a six year old female Jack Russell terrier that I rescued 5 months ago.  I am her third owner.  I do not know the history of her first five years other than she had pups and someone spent a lot of time training her.  She is very intelligent and quick to learn.  She knows all her basic commands.
Her second owner got her after her cat passed as a companion to her other dog, a pit mix.  The pit became aggressive and attacked Sammie whenever it became frustrated because another dog was outside.  She has many puncture scars and has had broken ribs.  Sammie only lived there six months, with most of that time being in a carrier for her protection.
Sammie is a very good dog.  She listens most of the time, is friendly, intelligent, loves to play and socialize.  She is good with other dogs.  My problem is that when my husband and I are intimate, Sammie pees on my throw rugs.  I have tried long walks so I know she does not have to go.  I think it is either jealousy, or perhaps she is feeding off the atmosphere and has to do something to let off steam..
I never catch her in the act, so it is extremely hard to correct her.  I tried not making an issue of the problem and just cleaning it up.  I also have tried showing her what she did and telling her bad dog, but since it is after the fact, it is not helping, either.  I am at a loss as to what to do.  She can go 10 hours or more any other time.
Sammie had not been spayed when I got her, so I waited till after her heat, then had the surgery done.  That was several months ago.  It seems the problem has gotten worse since then.
I am open to any suggestions you can offer.

Answer
Well what you may want to try is whenever you and your husband are about to become intimate, try putting her in a crate and as far away from the both of you as possible

She is most likely doing this to get attention and out of jealousy-also at different times have both you and your husband play with her together,so that she won't feel like you are always leaving her out
