Question
Should a dog get it's rabies vaccine for his whole life, or at one point is he too old and it would not be necessary?

Answer
Unfortunately, it is state law that all dogs be given rabies inoculations, but *FINALLY* all states are now allowing three years between vaccinations, rather than one as some were doing.

Rabies laws in the 50 states as of 1/3/10:

There is on-going research for extending the required time between vaccines to five years, and then, hopefully, to seven. The Rabies Challenge Fund is in need of more donations to continue its research. This is truly worthwhile research for all of our dogs! http://www.rabieschallengefund.org/
