socializing my dog

We just rescued a 10 month old Norwegian Elkhound about two weeks ago.  She is awesome with adults and children, but was never socialized with other dogs and so becomes aggressive when around other dogs.  She is very submissive with us though.  We tried meeting a friends dog (a chihaha mix who has been around other dog on leashes and there was alot of growling and snapping on both ends. Please any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!!!!!

What you can do is have her meet with your friends dogs in there backyard,but with her wearing a muzzle,so she won't hurt the other dog-and if it makes you feel better,have the other dog wear one as well

This usualy works,while some dogs will never like other dogs,they will at least ignore,or tolerate them better
